Astute businessman and Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Arthur Nzeribe, is dead.
It was learnt that Nzeribe died on Sunday at age 83. He was said to have passed on in his country home in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State following a protracted sickness that left him bedridden for long.
Born on 2nd November 1938, the former senator was a lawmaker. He represented the Orlu Senatorial constituency between October 1983 and December 1983.
He, however, returned to the Senate over a decade later and represented the people of Imo West district between May 1999 and May 2007 on the PDP platform.
Meanwhile, the former President of the Senate, Pius Anyim, suspended Nzeribe indefinitely in November 2002 over an alleged N22 million fraud. This was during his return to the upper federal legislative house.
