Poll Shows Majority Democrats Want Biden Replaced In 2024

Almost two-thirds of Democratic voters will prefer a replacement of President Joe Biden in the 2024 US presidential election, a poll reveals.

According to the poll by the New York Times/Siena College, the president’s popularity has dropped amongst Democratic electorates.

There was a surprisingly low approval rating for Biden as the president battled issues such as rising inflation and criticism from some progressive Democrats over his response to the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade

A larger per cent of the Democrats who want the president replaced stated that he was too old to be in power. Meanwhile, 32 per cent said it was because of his job performance, according to the survey conducted from July 5 to 7.

Around 12 per cent of voters said they would prefer a new candidate. 10 per cent insisted they wanted someone with more progressive politics.

For 20 per cent of all voters in the poll, jobs and the economy were the most critical problems facing the country.

With 75 per cent saying the economy was “extremely important” to them, 15 per cent listed inflation and cost of living as top issues.

Only about a quarter of Democrats said they want Biden to run in 2024, the survey found.

The survey also shows that only 13 per cent of all voters believe the nation is on the right track, a record low in New York Times polling since after the 2007 financial crisis.

Meanwhile, 27 per cent of Democrats think the country is moving in the right direction.

The poll also revealed that faith in the future of the country varied greatly based on gender.
