Protesters, Monday, staged a go-slow procession on major roads in the UK to protest and demand immediate action from the government against a surge in petrol prices.
The campaign under the social media banner, “Fuel Price Stand against Tax”, had car owners driving unanimously at a slow pace on motorways and other arterial routes.
This is coming as senior criminal lawyers staged the second walkout in England and Wales against years of government cuts to their fees, worsening a “summer of discontent” as strikes sweep Britain.
According to Welsh police, they had arrested 12 people for driving under 48 kilometres per hour for “a prolonged amount of time”.
They carried with the protest to demand a slash in the hike in petrol price.
