Kano Declares Monday Public Holiday To Observe Islamic Calendar

The Kano State Government has declared Monday, August 1st as a public holiday to mark the beginning of the 1445 Islamic (Hijrah) New Year.

In a statement signed by the state Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba and made available to newsmen in Kano, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje congratulated all Muslims ummah for the beginning of the new Islamic calendar.

He, however, urged Muslims to use the break to pray for Allah’s forgiveness and His intervention to rescue the country from the lingering security challenges.

Governor Ganduje also assured of his administration’s readiness to continue improving the lives of its citizens.
