GLG Communications Partners Guardian To Release 2022 PR Power List

To mark this year’s World PR Day, a leading public relations and reputation management firm in Nigeria, GLG Communications and a leading newspaper in the country, The Guardian, have partnered to release the 2022 PR Power List.

The 2022 PR Power List is a celebration of some of Nigeria’s distinguished PR professionals, who have made exceptional contributions to the growth of the public relations industry and have combined ingenuity with commercial acumen to create agencies that share global reach with local relevance.

As contained in a media statement issued on Saturday, the comprehensive list is the definitive best-in-class. It recognises 50 PR and communications’ professionals in Nigeria.

The list is divided into five main categories including Icons, Changemakers, Community Impact, Rising Voices, and Media Icons.

The Founder and Managing Partner of GLG Communications, Omawumi Ogbe, expressed that it was imperative for those who have made significant contributions to the public relations industry, created nerve centres and inspired industry professionals and aspiring practitioners alike to be given their due recognition.

“For us at GLG, it was important to showcase and recognise those who are pushing boundaries and lay at the intersection of ingenuity and progress of the blossoming Nigerian PR space,” says Ogbe

Although this is the PR Power List’s inaugural edition, Ogbe promised that they would continue to profile and cheerlead everyone making things happen in the PR industry.

He emphasised: “And we have proven, especially with this year’s list, icons and impact makers who are not necessarily celebrities, but who make things happen across the country, that much is possible in Nigeria, by Nigerians.”

According to the founder, in delivering this year’s list, they have worked with an eminent jury to review and ensure they presented a holistic list that comprises senior leaders, intermediaries and those who are well on their way.

She added: “I’m very grateful to our selection committee for their work, The Guardian for coming on this exciting ride with us, and the team at GLG who have been instrumental in putting all of this together.”

To further mark the day, GLG Communications will also hold a cocktail reception for the honorees and fireside conversations where topical issues on PR’s present state and future will be on the front burner.

Themed “Trust, Truth, and Transparency and the Future of PR”, in line with the 2022 World PR Day theme, the Fireside Chat will be moderated by the Managing Partner of GLG Communications, Omawumi Ogbe.

The event will feature Africa Regions Executive Head, Brand and Corporate Communications, Standard Bank Group, Nkiru Olumide Ojo; MD & Editor-in-chief at Guardian Nigeria, Martins Oloja; the Group CEO of RED | For Africa, Adebola Williams; and the Founder & CEO, LSF PR, Bidemi Zakariyau.
