Manchester United has categorically debunked rumours that its star player, Christiano Ronaldo is set to move to Sporting Lisbon.
In a tweet on Thursday, CaughtOffiside said that Ronaldo’s return to Sporting Lisbon was “99 per cent done”.
However, a source in Old Trafford said that the 37-year-old Portugal sensation is still expected to stay with the Red Devils this summer.
The club, meanwhile, could yet sign another four players before the transfer window closes next week.
Despite failing to progress on a £70million deal for Frenkie de Jong since May, United has not given up their pursuit of the Barcelona star.
The Red Devils are expected to launch a third bid for wantaway Ajax forward Antony on Friday and remain interested in PSV Eindhoven’s Cody Gakpo.
Meanwhile, United want to sign Martin Dubravka from Newcastle as a backup to David de Gea.
